So as most of you all know, I had my gallbladder taken out on Thursday. Well by Friday evening, I was hurting so bad my wife had to take me to the ER. After setting in an ER room for 36 hours, they finally decide to admit me, because they have no idea what's wrong. Well, then they kick me out of the room I had because I was going upstairs, but they didn't have any rooms, so I got to set in the hall for a few hours. Finally on Sunday morning, yes that's right I went in on Friday, and they put me in a room on Sunday. Nthen do a CT, Mir, X-rays, and finally a hyde scan(sp)... Come to find out my surgeon messed up and didn't clamp one of the bile ducts good, so inwas leaking bile all in my abdominal cavity. I get to go back to surgery to have an EGRCP... Then they sent me home. I get home, and guess what I find. The babysitter that was watching the kids while I was gone, needed a power strip, and borrowed it off of my frag tank, because she didn't see any fish in it, so she thought it was ok. So not only am I in severe pain, I get to come to find all my new corals dead, Let's just say, if she wasn't my wife's friend, she would be buried in a field somewhere...

Sorry to hear about the surgical troubles and then the coral death on top of it. I just had last minute back surgery (I know that sounds weird) and two weeks later I had to go back to the hospital because I had developed two blood clots in my lung. I must say though, I did get a room quicker than 36 hours. I hope all is better with you now.

I am healing slowly. I can replace the corals eventually. Yea the hospital and myself are currently discussing their inability to provide care. Their lawyers and hospital administrator came to see me before I was released.

Guaranteed they are better at covering their buttocks than they were at fixing your problems. They have lots of experience I'm pretty sure. And I'll bet the surgeon is in full denial mode as well. Fun to see them close ranks.

Absolutley. However the GI specialist that fixed the issue put in his report that my condition was due to a poorly placed bile duct clamp.

I have anesthetized thousands of laparoscopic gallbladder surgeries. If that's in his dictation, he basically incriminated the surgeon. The only recourse the surgeon has is if he took pics of the clamps.

I hope it works out for you.

It is. I have copies of the report. At this point everyone is scrambling to CYA up there. I'm finally feeling better. Still very sore but surviving.
