For all the experts in IDing a true OG Purple monster, can you please tell me if this looks like the real deal?

It looks very close but tough to tell with the lighting and reaching branch structure. The OG SHOULD have white polyps under good conditions.

Ah, so all the OGs have white polyps? Or do they only have white polyps if they are also healthy? Hard to tell in this pic if the polyps are there.

I have not seen one in low light or very blue light (both which the photo seems) but would not be surprised if the polyps were green in lower light as green is a common color to show in low light for anything.

Maybe @therman can speculate…

I was told that they were keeping it under t5's at around 300 par. This is what caused the green developing at the base. Then they switched to Radion G5 XR 30's at 200-250 Par and it changed. Make sense?

That picture looks like it’s under t5 actinic lamps to me but maybe just low light.
It’s easy to change spectrums on a radion and crank up the light for a better picture. I’d be asking for that before pulling the trigger.

Well if you bought a frag that's not a real PM, for a PM price then you overpaid for sure.

For the most part I agree if you like the piece and the price then buy it but there are some exceptions for me to that rule. Purple Monster is one on that list. That's not necessarily related to price but more to just knowing I'm growing the real original purple monster. Also if all goes well, confidently selling frags as PM. Any doubt, I'd pass.
