Hi all,
Getting back in - slowly buying everything. (The price of fish almost set my hair on fire).

My questions are about the tank bottom, inside and out.

I hear some put a neoprene mat on the inside , under the sand, to protect against breakage (falling rock).

Also, some put Insulation between the tank and stand to absorb vibrations and to insulate.

Just wondering what you guys do.

Thanks

(75 gallon glass build)

If you have sand I wouldn’t be too worried about the bottom glass breaking from a rock, more so the sides of the tank, which can be solved by gluing or epoxy-ing the rocks together

I’m not sure it’s absolutely necessary to have something under the tank between the stand, some have said putting something under can potentially cause stress points on the tank due to an uneven spread of weight while on a softer surface like a mat. However I have seen people put things under their tanks with no issues as far as I know
