It’s been a while all! Hope everyone is doing well. I have won the cyano battle! #TBT of the tank when it was fragless and Cyano growing on the sand.

Man the snail from Algae barn sure are clean and beautiful! Too bad my Trochus died due to High Salinity which I don’t find out til a little later on. #TBT

Had to get a Water Analysis. Corals were not surviving during this time and wanted to know what was off! This is how I found out that the salinity was too high!!! ‍♀️

You see the Cyano film on the sandbed. I was so stressed out about this. I was continuously collecting the Cyano and scooping it out but that was not working.

What worked was a blackout! WITHOUT using the red slime remover. Simply no lights for x amount of time. I did it for three days since I did not have corals in my tank

Chowder... that’s a hilariously sad name for a clam ;Hilarious

Reason I asked about the Trochus is got five from the same vendor and they all mysteriously died, cause still unknown. Doubt high salinity though because I’ve calibrated my refractometers plus nothing else died.
