I have a 30 gallon with no coral but maybe a bit much coraline. It has really picked up the pace lately and I'm struggling with alk and ph. I am trying to keep this simple so not sure if I should interfere or not. I dose 5ml of all for reef a day right now. Bottle says to add balling b in this case. I'm am using aquaforest reef salt plus that states it has a alk of 12. My tank seems to use about 0.6 alk a day. It is currently at 6.1 and this is 5 days after a 20% water change. Other paramaters are Nitrate-8, phos 0.02( can't get higher no matter what I do) Mag 1400, calcium 420 and ph at 7.8. Should I even bother trying to make this better? Everything seems happy. Not sure why ph is a bit lower than usual at the moment. I am trying to get the coraline to make a full sheet on all glass surfaces...why? I'm not sure. When alk goes low it seems to stop growing and gets little white dots that take a while to go away. It's not super pretty when it does that. Thanks for any help, info or guidance. Much appreciated.

I recommend dosing AFR to maintain alk. If alk is not keeping up, add more.

For pH, there’s no need to raise it, but if you want to the ways relate to reducing CO2 in the water, such as more aeration with fresher air.

I will add more afr. There is a skimmer that has the air line going in the basement thinking there was less co2 down there than the room we always spend time in. Maybe worth considering routing it outside?
