Hello everyone,

I wanted to share a poor experience with BRS with their shipment of 100#s of macro dry rock. I ordered this to supplement the little bit I had left over for a 160g SPS dominate build. When ordering, under order comments and under shipping comments, I requested medium and large rocks only, as I already had the small pieces I needed.

First, when the boxes arrived, they didn't even make it into the house before the bottom blew out, leaving rock, Styrofoam peanuts, and rubble/crumbs everywhere (However, kudos for padding the rock).

Secondly, After spending 30 minutes cleaning up the mess, I continued to unbox and weigh them. They were just shy of 99#s (rock only) over three boxes. If you're not going to throw in a couple extra pounds to make up for scale differences, at least make it the complete 100# paid for.

Thirdly, just shy of 5 pounds was rubble (included in the total weight). This includes the break-off and pieces that were just plain tiny.

Fourth, the two largest pieces I got are a measly 9" x 6" x 4" and 7" x 6" x 5". I requested only medium and large. These barely qualify for large. The bulk of the order is medium. I wanted ZERO small rocks; nonetheless, I received more than 15 lbs of them anyway.

Overall I am very unimpressed at the order. The rock itself is nice and porous, as Marco rock should be. I had some big expectations as I needed some large pieces for my design idea and I just did not get what I wanted.

My rock order was perfect but in my case I only wanted medium/small rocks and NO boulders which is exactly what I got. I did get mostly medium too and maybe that is mostly what they have? Very few rubble pieces but I live only 2 hours north of them so less chance of breakage. I had maybe a sandwhich bag of rubble.

You can always glue/epoxy several rocks together, or drill and use rods.

Lemons to lemonade

I like it.

That actually may work out better as you can “make” the rocks a shape that works for you instead of being stuck with some huge rock you can’t do anything with.

I know it’s not what you wanted OP but you could make this work to your advantage.

I'm sorry the box arrived in that condition, we do always track reports of shipping issues so we can continue to improve how these are packaged as best we can. If you haven't already, please contact our support team so that we can get some extra rock sent out to you to make up for the rubble.

Our team does their best to accommodate rock requests left in the comments based on what we have available when the order is placed and packaged. One thing that we love about the Marco Rocks is that it's super easy to glue pieces together or epoxy them to create unique structures with smaller pieces, or break bigger pieces apart.
