Yeah it is! I heard a nem expert the other day talk about anenome splitting. First he said nobody really knows why (even among experts) so...that's interesting. But he mentioned a theory called the strawberry theory or something. It was (if I remember correctly) they will asexually/split if things are going good because it preserves the genome

Gettin to it on the right. I gotta say out of the variety of snails I have, I've noticed Astrea on the rockwork the most. Right at the line where the long algae meets bare rock; as if they drive it back. Of course the bigger guys do the most noticeable damage but don't sleep on Astrea snails, imo.

Trident NP came; haven't gotten it hooked up yet; only put in place. I don't have another PM1 so waiting on a usb (aquabus) to come today. Hoping the Trident can power the NP via the aqua bus. We'll see.

Obviously I had to update to the latest AOS (had been holding off as I had no need). There were no hiccups but I've noticed my Ca and Mg readings seemed to have leveled out some. Idk what to make of it yet, too soon to tell. I did recalibrate but they were wonky a bit after that too. Trying to line up the timeline when I did the update and when they started going in a predictable direction. So that's positive. We'll see what Neptune says when I hear back. Also have some more reference solution coming to calibrate further if needed.

Hoping the NP has more benefit than hinderance. Should have some tests later today to compare to hanna.

Also got in there with the bone cutters and did some pruning of the rocks lol. I want to make more swim throughs. Still planning to move the anemone to the sump display and when I do I have some ideas for rock rearrangement. Trying to go slow though; this could play out all summer lol

These nems look and are doing so good (to me at least) I hate to disturb them to move them to the sump display... I'm going to let them hang a while longer...wait til the frags are fully encrusted and ready to mount I think :thinking-face: Really going to give it some thought

It cannot...uggh. For the price, you'd think they'd throw in the thing that makes it work; at least a few power options. So I had to buy a EB832 which I'll find plenty of use for anyway but comon Neptune! I already had to buy needle guides which should be included.... Whatever. I won't rail on. I like the data points and it extends my range from the tank for the rest of the summer at least and gives my neck a break from drops, sachets and vials.

My nitrates bottomed out last week. 0.0 on the Hanna. So I dosed a little No3 just for a bump and fed heavy all last week. It stayed above 0 but not much. Then my skimmer started overflowing for some reason (no idea why yet) so I turned it off. Well my nutrients are right where I'd like them now and I've kept the skimmer off. If I turn it back on I fear bottoming out again. Corals a looking plump. When it dips you can see it; they shrink and shrivel and just lose that plumpness

Scored the last two 10 gal brutes at HD; had to key open a box for the lids after a bit searching for them in the chaos of an aisle they were in. Stretching my mix up time to 10 days for my awc setup at 1 gal a day. Pretty happy about this :)

Round of applause to the overnight crew. Lights just came on. Few trouble spots remain. Just have to keep it down this time. Easy enough, right? Lol. One of the new frags RTN in one day - lavender haze acro (smooth skin). Was lookin fine the day before; got home from work and skin was peeling off. Immediately just chucked it. Something munched the new monti cap (growing off the plug) when I mounted it (only suspect is emerald crab atm) so I put it back in the sump...whatever. A little frustrating but I've been keeping things as stable as I can so I wouldn't know what to change right now.
