Did you add something to the tank fish ect.

I have not tested nitrites in 15 years. Nitrites will not hurt your tank you just need to be Testing Nitrates and when they get to 10.00 - 15.00 ppm do a water change.

Why are you afraid? Whats in the tank? Can we see a tank pic? What prompted you to test nitrite, we normally don't test nitrite after the cycle, are you cycling the tank?

Hello! No I haven’t added anything new. I checked because I bought a new tank like a month ago. I added my fishes just after I tested and amonia and nitrites was 0. So I tested just for curiosity and I realized that :(

Waterbox marine x 110.4

-blue hippo
-scopas tang
-2 nemos
-1 royal gramma
-1 orchid dottyback

And some corals not too much

I’m afraid because it’s supposed to be 0 the nitrites and they’re going up :(

Did you cycle the tank first? Or do you mean you literally just filled it with water, tested for ammonia and nitrite, and started adding livestock because everything read zero?

If the tank is only one month old, then you are cycling the tank with the fish. Thats uncomfortable at best and can kill in the worst case.

Your tank is very overstocked at this stage, I normally don't add my first fish to a new tank for 3-4 weeks. Fish should be added a 1-2 at a time then wait 3-4 weeks to add more, the system has to adjust to the increasing bioload.

The 2 tangs both belong in larger tanks. Some tangs can fit in your tank, but not those.

Huge bioload plus feeding all those fish will create ammonia spikes. Your nitrite is increasing because the ammonia is increasing. This will cause stress to the fish. The next thing is usually disease.

No one is criticizing but we really need more info to help. The fish will likely die if we don't help you, we want to help your fish, so please give us all the info possible.

I haven’t tested in years, but was actually surprised to see a 0.15 ppm result come back from my first ICP-MS test a couple months ago in my 8 year old tank. Ammonia is zero, so I didn’t even investigate. Tank is still doing great. I wouldn’t worry too mich. Just keep an eye on ammonia as others suggested.

I let it cycle for 1 month. I added the last fish 1 week ago
You said you bought a new tank a month ago, and that you let it cycle for a month… did you add 2 tangs, 2 clowns, a gramma, and a dottyback over the course of a week?
