Thank you - which wattage do you have of the light?

Also, the description says not to mount on glass that is under 6mm!!! I don't know why, but that seems odd that they'd put a criteria on the glass thickness.
It's a really heavy light

Hmm, I'm thinking then if putting a wide piece of something between the glass and the installation bracket to increase the surface area to distribute the weight bearing - strength needed. Not an engineer, but just thinking that it should be ok. Glass is 5mm

Assuming budget is primary concern, I'd vote Noopsyche mini over Nicrew,,, especially since app controllable so probably same or less $$$ if you're buying the Nicrew timer anyway.

$85 on Noopsyche site right now seems pretty reasonable for 60w with gooseneck and ability to control by app.

*I ran Nicrew 50w over half of a 40 gallon tank for a while and no real complaints other than the fact that it has no included control,,, but simple, cheap on/off timer is fine for super low budget.

They’re nothing fancy but they’re great lights for the price. I recently switched from metal halides because of the heat and the corals are responding really well.

Don't do that. If the material gets wet, it'll expand and break the glass

Great point! I'll put the material on the outside of the glass....probably a piece of metal or ABS plastic.....something that won't absorb water and therefore won't change in thickness.

I have this one, I attached photos below for you. I got the 30 watt I believe and if I’m wrong 100 watt. I have mine mounted onto the glass just fine. Haven’t had any issues with it, great light!

I can't afford an AI PrimeHD, so looking for alternatives, and came across the Nicrew line of Reef LEDs - wanted to see if anyone on the forums can chime in on these if they have one.

Thanks
I have one of these for a forty a great light I only payed 30bucks all my corals have grown and haven’t lost any due to lighting issues, I highly recommend it to anyone

I honestly don’t think so, I never hear anything come from mine and never had that issue in the past either with it. I’ve had it over a year and still hear nothing

The 60w mini would be great i have a 15g column tank and it does awesome amazing growth and coloring app is super easy to use and again only around 80$. 60w mini by noopsyche is what i would suggest what is your price point. @tbrown3589 care to comment on this about your experience with noop?
The Noopsyche 60W with goosneck looked very promising, but my concern that if I wanted to mount it on the side of my tank (Fluval EVO 13.5) the light fixture would not reach the middle of the tank. It might, but then it might need to be stretched and it'll look weird

The gooseneck is flexible. But might be difficult to make it reach the middle.
