Good evening my fellow Reef2Reef peps. I set up my second tank last January. Life has been very busy and never got around to posting a build thread. But being hunkered down waiting for hurricane Milton to make landfall has given me some free time to really enjoy my tank! I've really enjoyed my experience here on R2R and the people here have provided tons of information to me along my Reefing journey. Approximately 2 years ago during COVID I made the plunge back into the Reefing hobby with a Innovative Marine Nuvo fusion 2 20g AIO after nearly a 30 year break from the hobby. Well My little 20g filled up quick and as many of us do I upgraded! I've really enjoyed my little tank so it was a no brainer to go with a larger IM Tank. I settled on the 100 gallon EXT & have been super happy with my choice. Equipment I'm running includes 2 Radion XR 15 G6 blues & 2 AI prime Blade grows. 2 MP 40s & The Mighty Jet XL return for flow. For filtration I'm using the Reef Octopus regal 150 int skimmer which is a beast. The Tank came with IM's sump which is nice but the only part of the system I'm not super happy with as it doesn't allow for the use of a filter Roller & I absolutely hate filter socks. That being said I've adopted WWC's use of filter floss and bipassed the socks all together. As of yesterday I set up a Bashsea 4-12 media reactor and I'm running GAC through it. I cant believe what a difference it's made in the clarity of the water & over all appearance of the tank and corals. One thing I did differenty this time was I ditched the 100% sterile start up. Being here in Tampa it was just too much of a temptation not to grab some of Tampa Bay saltwater live sand to seed the tank. I did end up with some aiptisia as a result and I have no regrets!!!! Things just grow better IMO. Only thing I'm dosing is All for Reef and it is a game changer takes all the guess work out of everything. I check Alk and move on with my day. Anyhow I've rambled on long enough and things seem to be getting exciting outside (don't wanna loose power and have to start over lol) So I'll upload some pics of the tank and sign off for now. Happy Reefing!
