Hi guys I’ve been interested in getting into the hobby for quite some time now, finally after getting married and having a baby I finally pulled the trigger and set up a nice little 40G tank. I got the 40g AquaTop AIO system and a AI Hydra 32 HD LED light to go with it. I was going to go for a fish less cycle but the guy at my LFS told me to use Turbostart and put 2 little clownfish in immediately to get my cycle going. I took his advice and did so, I also got 4 tiny blue legged hermit crabs and 4 snails. Per his advice. Parameters looked good all day I’ve been sort of paranoid so I tested twice today once in the morning and once right now. Water Temp is 79 degrees and salinity is 1.025. Wish me luck guys I have a feeling I’m going to need it!!

P.S. it’s super hard to be patient but I know if I want to be successful doing this then I have to be.

#Welcome to Reef2Reef!

The tank looks good. You are 100% right about taking your time. A nice mature reef takes a year to get established for most people.

Please feel free to ask any and all questions you might have. That's a big part of what this forum is for.

It can be hard, but be patient. Nothing good happens quick in this hobby. But if you are patient, it can be very rewarding. I kind of look at it like growing plants. You cant really rush the process. Good Luck Welcome to the forum

Looks good! i got myself the same tank and other than wanting it to be bigger I've enjoyed it. I actually had the same thing with the LFS recommending fritz turbostart. I'm now 3 weeks in, i have 4 fish and a handful of CUC and water parameters have been ideal. how's everything for you so far?
