So I’m about 2 months into my SPS journey (other corals are softies and LPS - mostly Hammers and Acans) and just wanted to share my corals’ progress, partly because I’m just happy they didn’t keel over.

Monti - Plating Red (6 weeks before and after)

Birds Nest (9 weeks, this one really took off, especially after taking damage from a Dino outbreak)

Lime Light Hydnophora (9 weeks, hungry at time of photo, I’ve seen this classed as both SPS and LPS…)

Purple Acro (no idea of specific type, it’s only been a week so no progress)

Progress update:

Frogskin Acro - first photo is at the same zoom as the original, second photo zoomed out some. I note one side is paler, but this is also the side that’s growing the fastest and has taken off in the last couple weeks. For some reason the original central polyp never seems to have grown.

Digitata. This one has really taken off - hard to see how much when the polyps are out but is branching off quickly in multiple directions. Always has lots of PE.

Birdsnest. This one had a fragging accident, so now I have five around the tank. The original stump is there and the skin is growing back, while the crown is now elsewhere in the tank - got to about 4-5” across and seems happy in its new location.

Red Monti. Growing fast and plating out.

Green Monti:
This one had a tiny fragment break off and got lost on the sand, but then it turned up and now I have a second one that’s a little dome growing up from the sand - leaving it to see how it does:

Limelight Hydnophora. Another that is encrusting fast!

Looking good. Waiting to add sps seems to have paid off for you. I set a tank up 18 months ago specifically to try sps it was a struggle untill after about 12 months and things started taking off.
If your monti caps grow like mine did you'll have more frags than you know what to do with lol
