What species of hawk? I think they are cool but it says online “reef safe - monitor” which worries me. I had a trigger fish and he ate all my snails and crabs. Found him a new home and everything is finally back to normal

I’ve had a flame hawk for a year who has never touched a snail, conch, or shrimp. I don’t have any hermits, so not sure about that. The larger shrimp (blood or cleaner) are usually fine, but some people have problems with smaller shrimp or shrimp added after the hawkfish. Triggers are MUCH more prone to eating inverts (including hard coral) than hawkfish in my experience. I wouldn’t compare them.
