Hello, I just recently setup my first saltwater tank (ive had freshwater before), it is a 13.5 sea evo. My ph was awfully low at around 7.3 so I decided to buy something that supposedly would raise the ph (seachem marine buffer said it would put it to around 8.3) so I just used it about 10 mins ago and my ph is now all the way up to 8.7, which really didnt accomplish much I was trying to get it to be at around 8-8.5. My other values are good its just ph that is bad. Any ideas on how I can fix this? I ordered fish a couple days ago and should be coming in the next 2 days I think I messed up bad lol. Thanks in advance

Bad product choice. It's an alkalinity supplement that won't do much for pH,a nd overdosing causes problems, as you found.

NEVER use a buffer to solve a pH issue, unless it is only caused by low alkalinity (which is almost never).

Do you know of any solution besides a refugium that could help with this? I do not want my ph to fall to 7.3 again if possible

Relax and please read my article above.

pH in any normal reef tank will not ever drop that low except in some sort of emergency like the valve broke on the CO2 tank for a CaCO3/CO2 reactor.
