Welcome to R2R! Waiting is hard, but you'll want to make sure everything is stable before adding corals or they'll just die off. My first corals were a few zoas to try out, and then a Duncan. :) I love blenny and goby as a first fish option, but that's really just my personal preference! Can't wait to follow along. Welcome again.

New to saltwater aquariums, just bought an AIO 12 Gallon tank, and haven’t started placing any corals or fish in yet. Any good beginner fish and coral to start with?

Well, it is a small tank. But with some creativity and research, you can have a nicely diverse tank!

Fish first. After about 6 months, you can start with some easy to keep beginner corals like Hammers and Zoas.

But one thing at a time...

How are you planning to fill the tank? Will you be purchasing water from the local fish store or will you be mixing your own?

Hi and welcome! I also like small blennies and gobies, lots of personality packed in small bodies. The tank would definitely need a cover for them however.

You should check out @Nano sapiens tank, I think it's 12 gallons and has been up well over a decade.
