Hi all,

I have a Reef Matt 500, and I noticed after my last water change, my water looking cloudy. My corals were shriveling, and it was making me very nervous. A co worker came over and took out the Reef Mat, disassembled it, and found a bunch of little snails jamming the turning bars. He cleaned it all up, reassembled it, and it doesn’t seem to auto advance. We watched a bunch of videos, and it seems like it all snapped back together. I can manually make it advance through the Red Sea app, but it hasn’t done any auto advancing. I haven’t had any alerts on the app, and I’m flummoxed. I don’t think the app is correctly monitoring my unit. We spent almost 3 hours, cleaning it, reassembling, rechecking the assembly and now unsure what else to do. Anyone else have this issue? Not sure what the snails were, but there were lots of them!!!

Yeah, I wouldn't trust ANY LFS. I mean there are SOME individuals that know their stuff, but since we generally don't know these people, it's hard to make the determination as to whether they are knowledgeable or not. I tend to trust the members of forums, once I get to know them. The odds of getting good advice here is significantly greater, just playing the numbers game.

So Greetings and Welcome to our collective obsession!!!!
