Hi all,

I have a Reef Matt 500, and I noticed after my last water change, my water looking cloudy. My corals were shriveling, and it was making me very nervous. A co worker came over and took out the Reef Mat, disassembled it, and found a bunch of little snails jamming the turning bars. He cleaned it all up, reassembled it, and it doesn’t seem to auto advance. We watched a bunch of videos, and it seems like it all snapped back together. I can manually make it advance through the Red Sea app, but it hasn’t done any auto advancing. I haven’t had any alerts on the app, and I’m flummoxed. I don’t think the app is correctly monitoring my unit. We spent almost 3 hours, cleaning it, reassembling, rechecking the assembly and now unsure what else to do. Anyone else have this issue? Not sure what the snails were, but there were lots of them!!!

Might want to post your question in the Red Sea forum.

Welcome to R2R! I’m in Santa Rosa!
Yeah! I've been frequenting them recently cause its close to my house
I was a bit dissatisfied as they sold me a sun coral that I should’ve researched, but they didn’t tell me it needs to be fed 2-3 times a week with “shrimp goo”, otherwise, I like them…..just not a lot of advice. They’re all about just selling what you see, without caution….I know you’re supposed to research, but many are impulse buys….

I did get my hippo tang there and love it!
The Rohnert Park store is not retailing anymore

I agree, they dont give much advice and the advice they do give isnt great. They also dont have the best coral display but its okay. I do like the fish i get from them a lot though! I got most of my coral from the rohnert park store and i hope they reopen soon
