IMO thats one less thing to worry about, one of the few things that need automation rn.
Cant tell you the number of times that I needed to adjust my skimmer because its either too low or too high this week alone.
any thoughts on the price?

Nice gizmos, only question is skimmer performance, this feature can be done in diy with float switches, just not so fancy....

At least that overskimm part, which is more important than "self leveling"....

I was pumped when I initially saw this, but a controller is still needed for the upgrade kit, so $329 to convert my existing AC RedSea skimmer to DC. That's more than I paid for the Skimmer when I first got it! I'd give it more thought if the upgrade kit was all I needed or if there was a single controller option as I have no need for a dual controller, no plans on replacing any of my pumps.

Take a look at Tunze skimmers if you want set and forget. Just change the cup and neck and thats it. I run a 9410dc and a 9430dc beast. It also has an anti overflow.
They are super efficiant and just plain skim with no adjustments.
These are the most underrated skimmers out their.
After 30+ years of reefing its the only skimmers I use.

yup the controller is a major draw back, it indirectly forces you to also consider buying the return pump to make the money you are paying "worth it".

Any suggestions on Tunze in sump skimmer models? Currently have a Red Sea RSK 300 skimmer for 80 gal tank, which requires constant adjusting and still periodically overflows (sensor shuts skimmer off) when away, leaving tank without skimming. Interested in a skimmer that will output a fairly consistent rate of waste with minimal adjustment, so emptying is more predictable, and less adjustment.

On my current 80g I run the Tunze 9430dc. Its a beast and never needs adjustment.
They are now available.
You could use the Tunze 9410dc.
I run one in my 45 frag system.
Also changing the skimmer cup is simple as the cup and neck lift out.
My 9410dc's barrel is 80% covered in coraline as it gets light. Still no adjustment needed so I just leave it.
Just took this. It has not been cleaned in over a year.
