I have had this blue sympodium frag in the tank for about a month and a half. This morning I noticed this clear/whitish thing growing on it. Can someone help identify it?

@Fish Styx , @mww00ds Do you know how to get rid of hydroids?
Most invasions of hydroid species will resolve on their own, and are very common with new / young systems. Digitate hydroids, however can grow to about a foot long and can sting your aquarium's inhabitants. For these, I would manually remove them with tweezers or forceps, grabbing as close to the base as possible. For control, natural predation is a consideration, as many of the specimens we already keep in our tanks will eat them. Clown fish, certain stars, urchins, crabs, etc. As always, however, add specimens to your system responsibly, ensuring that your tank has ample space and resources to enable them to thrive.

I hope you found this information to be helpful. Happy reefing!

Namaste.
