Hi all,
Got some new frags, 3 alveoporas, 1 candy cane, 1 leptastrea, 1 duncan and 1 clover polyps.
Set the rack in mid tank , lowered the flow for now, power head pointing directly to it.
After 24h the clover polyps won't give any sign of willing to open, the rest of corals starting to open.
I heard the clover polyps is easy to have, any tips to help it open?

Thanks

Not sure you should be pointing a constant flow at the corals (is it intermittent)? Some of these do not open for weeks.

Cloves take a couple of days to really open. Assure moderate light and flow. They dont tolerate bright light in some cases
Keep it off the sand as sand can irritate them

got it, must be the angle and the size of that beast. agreed that direct flow can cause closure, most all corals prefer variant flow and non-SPS don't generally appreciate direct flow
Yeah, those BTAs are a beast 5 in wide open but sitting far from the frag rack.
Let me share a couple of pictures including the position of the power head.
Thanks!!

Second photo, the rack is slightly positioned above the power head, so actually not so much a direct flow..

I'm going to low the rack a bit to reduce light and also find a way to reduce the flow further.

Thank y'all
Just to mention - the flow on the corals in the ocean are magnitudes more than in our tanks - a pump working at 4 percent may be too little rather than too much. Please let us know how it goes
