post pics of the tank, it helps us find rare clues unstated and it's a surface area assessment.

that's what cycled reefs run at on api ammonia, the other two params don't factor in the cycle assessment call.

was the initial ammonia color darker, if not that doesn't mean you aren't cycled it's just handy if it was and it changed to that.

I'm frankly shocked it moved that much. the staunchest old school cycler on the planet would have to agree that's legit cycled for bioload carry, and that your bottle bac was very much alive and concentrated, and likely on roids

Would u say I’m ready to add live things or should I wait another week?

Dr. Reef's bottle bac thread said in ten days all common strains of bottle bac we use if they're not dead bottles have resolved by day ten, that looks to be accurate findings he made.

next step

your tank can legit carry the fish you want / that's enough common surface area it's set.

how you proceed forward matters bigtime, that's a disease-prone setup due to zero benthic web life support etc however it can legit carry fish and process their feed and waste without burning them

you'll be intermixing new fish and corals and an inevitable invasion of algae or something, white rocks invade bigtime

choose a careful stocking order considering you're bioload ready but no basic foodweb in place nor anti algae controls in place.

Looks good, youre ready to add some fish. Your nitrite will go down to zero in a few days but no need to wait as nitrite doesn't affect marine fish. Also until nitrite reads zero your nitrate test isn't accurate so you can just add a couple fish and watch nitrite until its gone and then see where your nitrates are.

What bottled bacteria did you use? I'm gonna bet Fritz

this will help, look how he turns an all dry setup into a graduated reef

see where he was at on day 30 right when his beginning fish stock was ran? that's where you are at now/the bottle bac got you there much faster. if all api's were that clean I wouldn't dislike them so much, that's a clear api win in the exact setting we'd expect ammonia to move like that.

I’ve been waiting to add my Uv sterilizer and skimmer would those be okay to add now and should I do a water change before buying any fish?

UV sterilizer is fine but I would probably wait on the skimmer until you see where your nutrients are and how your tank is reacting. No need to overfilter in the beginning

we like to wait until day ten before doing that

it's a nice round number and so far all tanks align with it, specifically on that date full or large water changes won't peel off bacteria adhered

they're done before ten days but it ranges a bit, and that's a nice round number that seems to cover all strains. so yes on day ten change the water, hook up the uv and proceed

very good idea having one of those, that just lowered your invasion work upcoming bigtime, very nice strategy.

agreed on skimmer, use when needed/not required up front. nice cycling thread here.
