I was thinking around $500 but I'd be willing to go up to $700 if it made more sense. I definitely don't want to get something that doesn't allow room for growth.
Something like this will work in combination with the light you have. Can be used on the upgrade also.

This looks light long tentacle anemone which isnt too picky with lighting but assure light offers spectrums of blue , white and UV
They do best in tanks that have been running for at least 4 months as they dont fare well with changing chemistry and spikes. Monitor water regularly to assure there are no major changes. Ammonia and nitrate levels should be safe verified by using a good quality test kit and Not API either.
Here are some water parameters to follow.
  • Water temp: 77°F - 80°F (stay close to the middle of this range)
  • pH level: 8.1 to 8.3
  • Alk: 8 to 11 dKH
  • Salinity: 1.024 to 1.025
  • Nitrate < 5 -10
  • Phosphate < .04 - .06
Anemone lighting is important as part of their care as they need good light as they are photosynthetic which means that they absorb light to produce their inner food and growth. Anemones have zooxanthellae in their body which they feed on. Without proper lighting, your nem will expel its zooxanthellae which looks like it is poop and then bleach out which often leads to death.
Moderate flow is recommended as well as moderate light. Too much flow will cause the anemone to stretch out and look stringy and too little flow will cause them to climb. Avoid direct water flow directly at the anemone which stresses them out and again assure light is moderate and flow is not excessive in your case

Ai Hydra 26 or 32 OR . . . 2-3 orphek OR3 bars will take care of lighting needs

My tank is a 72G bow front, with the dimensions of 48″ x 18″ x 22″. My dream is a vibrantly colored reef with several tangs and a queen or two (if the latter won't destroy my coral). Moving to a larger tank in the future is not outside of the realm of possibility.
72 gallon wont hold multiple tangs or a queen (angel im guessing). Most tangs other than a few like tomini or kole will not do well long term in a 72 gallon tank. The queen angelfish should be in a 200 gallon at least.

All of the corals listed need different light levels so i will recommend stuff for a mixed reef. Led strips as Jekyl said arent a bad option as they will allow you to expand and are relatively cheap, stuff like Quanta reef bars or Orphek or3. I would say 4 should be good for most corals.

Some other leds that can work well would be 2x noopsyche or 2x smatfarms, but I would still probably add an led bar for coverage with either of these options, just personal preference as it will help with shading.

I never disagree with others but on the tangs, that is over thinking. With Good water quality management and diet - Its very doable.
If you look at my thread for 135g, I just removed 20 tangs from there and moved them to a recent 400g. They were in that tank since July 2021 and as most know- they high colored -fat-healthy . Is it recommended- No, but doable

Vette, would probably depend on the dimensions of your tank, this is only 48". I said most tangs as well, some of the zebrasoma might do well for a while but again still not most tangs.
The queen was what had me most concerned more than the tangs

Bubble tips can thrive in lower lighting when compared to a long tentacle anemone. So that is something to consider

Thank you for your detailed response. Since my tank is only 2 months old, I will be extremely vigilant with my monitoring of the tank and anemone. If I sense that he is failing, I will relocate him to an established tank. How quickly would he show signs of failure to thrive? He is still looking good tonight and has not relocated, shrunk, or paled. His clownfish buddy has joined my other clownfish elsewhere in the tank (and abandoned him for now), so I will pay extra attention to feeding in a few days.

I plan to upgrade all my test kits to Salifert but currently only have Nitrate, Nitrite, Calcium, Magnesium from that maker. My current tank parameters are as follows:

Ammonia: 0 (Lifeguard)
Water temp: 78 degrees
pH level: 8.2 (Red Sea)
Alk: low (Red Sea)
Salinity: 1.026 (refractometer)
Nitrate: somewhere between 5-10 - i.e. not as light as 5 and not as dark as 10 (Salifert)
Phosphate: no test kit at this time

I appreciate the suggestions for lighting and after a cursory look, think I will try a couple of Orphek bars (48"). I'll order them from Bulk Reef Supply and add a Phosphate kit.

Thanks again for your help.

I really like this option and appreciate the link. The fact that I can grow with them is especially compelling. Thanks!

I ordered a pair of OR3 Blue Plus 120's and then reread your message and realized you had said Sky Blue and Blue Plus. I'm assuming you meant one of each? My order has not fulfilled, so I can ask that they change it. Also, would you suggest buying the universal fixing bracket or will the included hanging bracket suffice? Thank you for your help. I appreciate you sharing your experience.
