I have a lot of SPS I won on auction and I thought they'd be tiny frags but apparently it's large colonies. I also just got a 4 gallon PNW Customs Lagoon that I was going to turn to a nem tank but considering to use it for the SPS I won. I have a RedSea Reef50 that's just lying around so I think I have adequate lighting (or switch to the AI blade I also have lying around). Should I continue or walk this idea back?
Some points I am thinking of:
I don't have a protein skimmer that small to fit in the back so I got only water changes and dosing.
I don't plan to feed much plus I have a bunch of sea fans and green macro algae I can use as in-tank refugium (more natural looking that way .. well kind of, I dont want a sandbed).
Definitely-- bare bottom, hard to manage a sandbed in a tiny tank.
Does anyone have success with a SPS pico that small? I've seen successful softies, mushrooms, zoas and anemone tanks at that size.
