Need to catch Bangaii for upcoming stripping

My Bangaii cardinal pair have bred twice now. The first time I believe the male ate the eggs, but this time, he still has the eggs and it's been around 15 days. My tank is 80g with other fish and some rock pillars. I would like to try and raise these fry, but what is the best way to try and catch the male?
In preparation, I do have a separate tank ready to go, brine hatchery working, and a breeder box. Also going to make the fake urchins that I've seen as a recommendation for the fry to hide in.

I have not. I figured it wouldn't work since he's not eating, but I can try and put one near the spot he hangs out. I would prefer to catch him this way instead of in a net.

Since I wasn't sure on the number of days the eggs have been in his mouth, I decided to try and catch him. I knew the eggs have been in there for at least 14 days, but I wasn't seeing any small tails or eyes in his mouth. I first tried to section off his favorite spot with a large piece of acrylic, but he escaped to the other side of the tank. Plan B, use a couple nets and the breeder box. He eventually went near the breeder box and I cornered him with a net and caught him. Not sure if he swallowed some or all of the eggs. From the photo it does look like there might still be some in there.
I don't want to make this a habit, so after hopefully stripping the fry and getting the male stronger with feedings, I will try and catch the female for future breeding. I will either put them in my refugium or in my Biocube in my classroom. Photo of fuge.
