Welp just as i finally got my 180 I realized its not 72x24 its 72.5x24.5 and I already built the stand and finished all the moulding/trim work. I did the common 2 load bearing 2x4s at each corner + 2 in the middle. I was thinking about just doubling up the back supports and just having an extra inch but am unsure how to add the extra half inch on one of the sides. I'm fine ripping off whatever on one side since it wont be seen much but I don't want to have an extra inch on that side if possible

I also am thinking about wrapping the back and one side with 3/4 inch plywood and calling it a day since Ive seen stands built only out of that

If anyone has any ideas different from my initial plan please let me know!

Heres a bad drawing of top down of load bearing stuff

Is that rimmed tank like an aqueon? Wrap the whole stand with 1/4 inch and call it done.

It’s wrapped in 3/8 which is what moulding is attached to. I think you’re right it’ll be easy to chop off mounding and remount later
