It's getting pretty bad not just gha, but also other algae, I already know the cause of being stuck in this ugly stage. It's my terrible cuc. My current cuc is just 3 cerith snails, 4 hermit crabs (1 halloween 2 blue leg 1 scarlet), and a starry blenny. My blenny is pretty lazy, he occasionally picks at gha, but he mostly waits for me to feed him algae flakes and pellets. Tank is a 25 gallon. I want something to clean this stuff up, but also not destroy my macroalgae (some occasional trimming is ok). I've heard lettuce nudis are good at this and will only occasionally eat some macros, and I have a lfs near me that sells them. I also want to just round out my cuc in general, any more suggestions?

Just seems like normal tank evolution to me. My GHA jungle was 10x worse then that. Get your hands wet daily with manual removal. Add to the cleaner crew included tuxedo urchins and turbos. Decrease lights to 6 hours with blue and uv only no whites for several weeks. Increase magnesium to 1500 and maintain weekly water changes.

Increase flow. Add snails such as:
Astrea
cerith
turbo grazer
trochus

A Pencil urchin

8-10 Caribbean blue leg hermits

Are you using RODI water or tap water from the faucet ?
What is your phosphate level?
Is tank at or near a window?

Just picked up a large turbo from lfs, hoping he makes a dent. I'm torn between lettuce nudibranchs or a hairy pincussion urchin for better gha control(really should clarified that in the first post lol).

I'm using rodi
Phosphate .25ppm (api test) tested on Sunday.
Tank is across the room from the window, as you can tell from that terrible glare.
Salifet test kits are on the way, have to bear with api for now :(

I think I'll try the nudibranchs over the urchins, I've been reading through threads and it seems like urchins and macros just don't mix.
Know anybody on here who keeps lettuce nudibranchs?

I probably wouldn't want a lettuce slug dying off for some reason in a small tank. Be ready for a 50% water change if it does.

Lettuce nudis aren't actually nudibranchs, so to my knowledge they don't bomb a tank when they die, but I'll have to look into that more. I'm not planning on running a powerhead, just a strong pump with rfg nozzles is there any precautions I should take with these guys getting sucked into my overflow?

Yea that's why I called it a slug. Not as potent as actual nudibranch but in a small tank it will raise ammonia and probably require a water change.
