Just dose it and test? Test before… test after.

You’re worried about 1ml? It would probably not be noticeable in your size of system, if you’re worried about something.
Probably more worried about making sure they dose enough to keep tank stable

Ok so

20,000mg/500ml =40 mg/mL
So 1ml will have 40mg of calcium

40mg/209,190ml =0.000191 mg/mL * 1000 =.191mg/l

So essentially 1ml of AFR will raise levels by .2mg/l

is this also equivalent to ppm or no?

Yes, mg/L is very close to ppm and most folks use then interchangeably.

Is this the correct formula to convert to ppm?

PPM = (solute/solution)*1000000

Yes.

Units would typically be mass per mass (or volume per volume for gas only).

Thanks!

Knowing the formulas and proper time to use which ones makes me happy!

Google can give lots of answers but sometimes it doesn’t explain things.

So .2ml/L is .2ppm? Or 2ppm/liter?

I’m curious now haha!
.2mg/L is equal to .2ppm - or at least close enough that we use it interchangeably

@Randy Holmes-Farley does this mean 1ml of AFR only raises the concentration of calcium by .2? Or would we then need to multiple that by the total number of L?

1 mL if AFR added to what?

1 mL of AFR contains ~ 43000 mg/L or 43 mg/ml.

Add that to 100 L of aquarium water, the boost is 43 mg/100 L = 0.43 mg/L = 0.43 ppm.
