Hello,

it has come to my notice after being part of this mostly NA based forum & an EU forum for a while that the NA reefers are way more progressive than EU reefers.
Does anyone else have this experience too?

NA reefers look for new tech, new solutions, easier reefing, etc..
While EU reefers seem to stick more to the "old ways"?

This isn't an attack to EU reefers (like myself) but more a healthy discussion on why this could be or if maybe i am the only one experiencing this.

Honestly, this is just from seeing tanks on IG and stuff. I feel like most US reefers chase all the new products and snake oils and all that and just from what I see,EU reefers don't really. Seem to have more simple systems that work very well.

I think what you are noticing is not a difference in EU vs NA reefers, but rather a different approach from two very different age groups. I am about as Midwest USA as a guy can get living with a view of Downtown Omaha, Nebraska from my front yard and I am not one to chase FADS or quick fixes. I'll leave that for the kids that will lose interest after 6 to 8 months of ugly algae and give it up.

I do see what you are noticing but I see it in the age differences, maybe cuz I'm old and salty and want you off my lawn.
:)

That could also be true, that these certain forums have "veteran members" wich are older & more grumpy towards newer ideas ha.
