Hi- Can you explain how you have a flash that produces blue light? I understand macro photography for insects etc, but can't figure how you are doing that. Thanks!

I built my own flash with blue LEDs (I'm an electrical engineer).
But I think it might be possible to use an off-the-shelf white flash with a blue filter to produce blue flash. I'm thinking of something like this. You have to experiment with it a bit to see which filter produce a good result. Also, you will lose quite a bit of light from the filter, so you need to crank up the flash power to compensate for that too.

Ah, ok. I've actually been thinking about gel filters as my flash seem to wash out some of the coral colors. Thanks
