This tank was set up in April 2017 and never thought of making a build thread until now. It has a slight cyano issue which I'm working on but doesn't want to go away. It was second hand and so I don't know much about the equipment which came with it. It has a deltaec skimmer and a medic media reactor for rowaphos and 2 heaters
Please excuse the slightly dirty sump. So here's the tank now at the start
This was just water being filled up and the aquascape set up (sorry I didn't take many photos at this stage)
First corals were added a few weeks later, including zoanthids, unfortunately gsp and xenia, and a 7 or 8 year old purple mushroom colony I've had since my first tank aswell as a beautiful leather coral I've had for years which I did not take pictures of sadly at this stage
Once fish were safe to add all my fish and inverts from my 40 breeder were added including a trio of lyretails anthias, pink streaked wrasse, tuxedo urchin, red leg hermit crabs and a percula Clownfish.
Unfortunately the female lyretails died shortly after being introduced and I'm not sure why. As the male had no females he seemed to become very shy after being very confident and always hid, I believed he would die as it was hard to tell if he was eating. Thankfully several months later he got his confidence back and was always out and about as you can see in the picture above. A few large euphyllia colonies came with the tank which are stunning as well as a giant chalice coral, as well as a large orange monti the lfs was holding for me. In the summer of 2017 I bought my first sps frag; a purple stylo
By the time the coral was home it did not look good But made a good recovery of some dead patches and made it through and is still alive today!
In September I got one of my dream fish: a potters Angelfish who is stunning and camera shy and is impossible to take a good photo of lol.
After Halloween I got my male lyretails some females and they make regular courtship at dusk, and a trumpet coral frag
At Christmas I got an orange fungia and a ricordea mushroom
Not much happened in the tank for a couple to months lots of coral growth and having to remove xenia. In April I got a pair or red saddle anthias and a McCoskers Flasher wrasse
And an acropora colony which isn't the prettiest but is beginning to colour up a bit. And finally the latest additions include a lined tamarin wrasse, female blue star leopard wrasse and a small acro frag
Thanks for reading
