Xenia like dirty water and it is thought the pulsing is relating to flow. The lower the flow the more pulsing. You might want to try to slowly increase your nutrients in the tank and lowering the flow. Also post parameters of your tank in case there is another underlying issue with your water quality.

I sincerely hope you mean 11.9 and not 119 :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

Anyway I'd aim for 0.06 po4 and 15 or less no3 though

I’m not sure if this has anything to do with it but info have a lot of green algae in the tank and could that be why they are not pulsing?

Algae like the same things coral does so probably not if you have never done one an icp test will help with the water contents

also, I turned off the flow for more than an hour, and they never started to post again so I don’t think the low flow or the high flow has to do with it

Don't waste your money on a test unless you are planning on adding coral. Right now you have a fake coral and some Xenia. Just keep up with maintenance and everything will be just fine. Also, Xenia sometimes just don't pulse. One day you will look at your tank and your millions of Xenia and be like, WHAT HAVE I DONE!?!

I wouldn't bother with an icp unless you don't do water changes regularly or suspect something is wrong (like a contaminant)
