I thought about trying that but I don’t know how the digi would respond.
Q tip or tooth brush will help you target it. I did it a year plus ago and didn't lose any in the process. It was just other things that killed them.
My process was manual removal, brush clean, brush with h2o2, rinse, return to tank. Zoa's hated it, lps were somewhat fussy, didn't have sps at the time.

You really need some aggressive manual removal at this point. No inverts are going to touch it when it's that long. Pulling it off with tweezers is a good start. I don't keep acros so I don't know how they handle H2O2, but that would be my recommendation once you remove as much as you can. You can even use a q-tip and dab the H2O2 on the algae/skeleton if the flesh is too sensitive...
Digitata is a Montipora. They're usually fairly hardy.

Q-tip is how I treated my Digitata. I think I've dipped a couple with no ill effects, but Q-tip targets better.

Gluing 2 frags of the same colony next to each other. And when they finally encrust and meet again. What do you think that's like? A family reunion is what I imagine.
That's incest, you sick weirdo!
