if the floor solid and wont budge, do the 2x4 stand as square and level as you can on a level surface then shim it to level. No basement, won't consider what we have as a crawl space either, it's too small. House is old AF, however this is a center wall and was designed with a chimney. We fully removed the chimney when we bought it, brick by brick, and re Sheetrock'd the walls and did a bunch of subfloor repair and had to completely rebuild parts of the kitchen. Huge mess. But, we had the entire subfloor in the kitchen gone, and I inspected what I could view at the time and this center wall is fully supported at the bottom for the weight of the brick chimney.
Any surface top leveler products are out of the question as I can't argue that would be better than his way.
Yeah, he didn't know I shimmed the 75 too,if the floor solid and wont budge, do the 2x4 stand as square and level as you can on a level surface then shim it to level.
My basement floor is angled on two planes where I put my tank; I just used flat PVC lumber and ceiling tiles to shim it into level. I have a stack over 3/4" on one corner.
You need to make them extra wide to distribute the load.
I was concerned a little about compression but havent had any issues.
its glass so only the 4 corners really matter. though at 6' it may be different.Yeah, he didn't know I shimmed the 75 too,
He says he'll help with the stand but honestly, I can do it. I just need a hand to get it in the house. Thinking of building the bottom frame, taking it in the house to the spot and marking/scribing and planing to get it level. Might take longer but full contact with the floor is better. Unless it's not that far off, I'll just shim it.
hahaha that tiffany such a jokester...
Looks a lot like mine but with the lights being less of a messAlmost there....
