I had a pal in Michigan that left his rock out all winter, in the spring he broke the rock open and there was still life in it unbelievablyI have 1 in the 120… see it on occasion… guessing it was a hitch hiker in the KP rock that didn’t leave during the hypo/hyper salinity dips
Dead. Not much can be done. I assume the water at the lfs being 40ppt or 1.030 sg helped play a factor in severe stress. It might have been higher, as I didn't test water until after 30m of a line drip.Ive never experieced a shrimp failing to remove its shell. Hows it getting on?
Well i would be having word. if you have one take your salinity pen next time. Here they usually keep it low to save money on salt amongst the other reasonsDead. Not much can be done. I find blood red shrimp to be more sensitive to water conditions than the striped skunk shrimp.
Husband told me to do that also. No guarantees from there if you don't bring in a water sample first.Well i would be having word. if you have one take your salinity pen next time. Here they usually keep it low to save money on salt amongst the other reasons
I learnt a long time ago never to trust an lfs, i dont care who they are lol Most just want to get stock in and out as fast as possible.Husband told me to do that also. No guarantees from there if you don't bring in a water sample first.
The last time I checked his water is was 1.027. I figured I'd never need to tell a store owner to recalibrate his sh....
we have 2 lfs, and the other is pure trash.
I hear you. It's a shame. There's more coral death here than sells. You think they'd both know. Dead don't bring in the cash.I learnt a long time ago never to trust an lfs, i dont care who they are lol Most just want to get stock in and out as fast as possible.

That's very true. I try to go once every other week to snag any gems from the store. If I don't there dead and i refuse to buy an acro in decline. I keep hoping he gets a couple of nice millis in. But, it's all monti species this past month. Its the same story everywhere well atleast here in the UK anyway. They love to blame the hobbyist or demand water samples. Just look at the amount of stores that dont stock acros because generally the demand to keep them is higher. See the ones that get maricultured colonies in, I pretty much guarantee that the ones that dont sell in the first week or two will be dead in a fortnight to a month in most stores.
