my husband did this during the last one... when the sirens went off, I asked if we should wake the kids and get them in basement. He heads downstairs and I say, "where are you going?!?!". His response was, " outside to listen to the wind". I was making fun of him at Jasons when all the Cronies were there and they all just look at each other with a grin and start nodding in agreement that this is the proper thing to do.

I was visiting my parents in Alabama a few years back and we were sitting at lunch about 2.5 hours from their house. We started hearing sirens and everyone got up and left. We decided it would probably be a good idea as well. We were driving towards their house and the tornado warnings were getting closer to where we were. I just drove faster but kept looking for culverts or something just in case... Luckily we turned left and the tornado warnings started heading right. That was an interesting hour. Living in AZ, we don't deal with that stuff too much.
