Nice. I'll be mounting them in an Aquatic life T5 hybrid fixture, so probably won't run them at full bore. I'll have to play around with the settings but may ask you guys some questions.I'm currently running 3 on my setup. posted my par values here.
those were the mid-to-low swings - but values were easily going 1/2 again as much with the shimmer (I shoulda done a round with the return and wavemakers off...)
have you checked par?I can see where the high light might come in....
I lowered everything from an inch below the waterline to 6 inches below the waterline...
We'll see if things don't come back in line now.
860 at the top of the 4" rack. 550 where they are now.have you checked par?
them are powerful lights
Uh yeah ,lil strong...860 at the top of the 4" rack. 550 where they are now.
They're 15" off the water with 2 ATI 54W 48” T5 Blue Plus bulbs (DIY reflectors). running the LPS/SPS setting.Nice. I'll be mounting them in an Aquatic life T5 hybrid fixture, so probably won't run them at full bore. I'll have to play around with the settings but may ask you guys some questions.
No such thing!!!!!Uh yeah ,lil strong...
I've had this issue... to high of light at alk above 8.5... the growth of the coral just can't keep up... skeleton builds but flesh is just not able to keep upNo such thing!!!!!
And I'm only half kidding about that. Most of the corals on the rack loved it... some just didn't like it at the very reaching edge.

I've had to do all of the above. I cut light, kept alk at 8.5 and did additional dosing of Reef AB+ and phyto... seemed to rein it in. I have a couple of coral that I can't move that it still happens to. But they seem to be adapting slowly.So, Dial back the light, or the alk, or both, or add flesh building components like amino acids and feed?
I'll post a cpl...I want to sort things out and maybe help out. @N1tew0lf1212 @Reeflix @tbrown3589 I have no idea why the hell there are 4 pages worth of Reeflix playing intern. I never approved of no one being an intern on here even more so him being my intern. What was that crap. We must respect Frank’s thread. No more playing dang it what was this. I want to take some responsibility for asking for an intern, clearly someone always needs to mess up a fun joke. It’s not right to hijack a thread even more so one like Frank’s. I’m not one to flame but I strongly disliked the attitude that was showed here @Reeflix . Like @F i s h y stated let’s get back to reefing dang it. Move on and leave all this playing intern crap behind. Frank must be respected. I’m sorry Frank that this happened on your thread. After this I don’t feel comfortable at all. I want to end on a good note. Frank can we get some night pics pls or any photos will do. This is a reefing site. Let’s get back to reefing.
What camera or phone do you use Fishy?I'll post a cpl...
Appreciate the post.
I want to be clear...
@tbrown3589
@Reeflix
@N1tew0lf1212
And anyone else...
You are all welcome here. But this thread has always been about reefing first then fun... it fits in between the reefing. Lately things have been fluff and very little reefing.
We all have things to add and offer... id like to believe that all of you have more to offer than the "nonsense" that has been posted.
I'm not good at playing Symantec's and sugar coating things... im a 2x4 kind of person...
I happen to have the cheat code for that...I've had to do all of the above. I cut light, kept alk at 8.5 and did additional dosing of Reef AB+ and phyto... seemed to rein it in. I have a couple of coral that I can't move that it still happens to. But they seem to be adapting slowly.
Samsung 8 I think it is. A little touch up on a few things but no photo shop...What camera or phone do you use Fishy?
