A lot of sps hammer/frogspawn, torches are usually safe. My emperor loved softies, except zoas. I did not have the trachy in that time frame, or acans. There are far too many reports on those being food.

I hear zoas and acans get eaten up quick. I’ve kept some hard species but I don’t think I got the skill to keep the angels fed on a coral free diet. Maybe if I started a sponge grow out tank idk ha

all it takes is one nip. And yes, my emp was fed several times a day. Went through an ounce of nori in less than a week. The body mass on a 5" emperor, is so difficult to explain. A powder blue tang x 3, same size. Makes the weight of an emperor angelfish. I can't begin to fathom one at 12"+

I really like some of the small ones I’ve seen. Idk which ones get massive but most of the adults I’ve seen look way to big for standard tanks

Can you tie a display refugium into the tank to do a cryptic zone, I love just standing back and watching the regal graze?

I plan myself to use my first tank the mr aqua 13 long as a display fuge.

Need a light and macro algae a return pump some plumbing and an over flow. Considering building a stand for it as well

Hard part would be finding the room but I’ve been wanting a display refugium. How big will that little beauty of yours get?

Ive been collecting random algae/hydroid turrf communities for my masters research and i started bringing the extras home and threw them all in a 10g. Im excited to see where it ends up in the next year or so lol

They say under a foot max so hopefully 7 - 8 inches, growing well but apparently they slow down once they get bigger.

@Nate Chalk
The blade scraper from Amazon worked like a charm , I’ve never seen algae come off in a sheet! Lol

also sold off the green zoa rock and rescaled a bit , used a flat rock so fish can hide easier if they don’t want to be seen

That looks great i gave the credit card another try and with alot of force it came off, i think i need to source some better razors to go with the one i purchased.

highly debating how to setup the display fuge now. Lighting overflow etc
The UFO grow light from Amazon is super cheap and powerful , something liek 1200 par at 12 inches for 50$ hard to beat , I use it in my fuge and there’s coraline all over and chaeto has no more room because of growth
