I have seen a few acro bonsais done like this into incredible shapes on IG

Stags are great for doing it.

In lower random flow, they grow tall. In super high flow, they branch out all over the place. Basically get the crap beat out of them to make h them do it.

2 colonies in same tank. Both have gyres on alternating random about 16” away. If you look at back of tank, they also have return pump flow. If you notice, the branches that get under the flow and in front of it, are longer and more stag like.
