2 switches...Say someone was wanting to run t5 or have a t5 fixture on hand as a back up, but didn’t have the $600 for the industry name brand fixtures
I’m assuming t5 fluorescent grow light fixtures could potentially work. What should someone look for when looking at those fixtures
Also. Dang it. Lion King just did a write up about keeping a predator tank. And I’m realizing I have a 40b and no plans for it currently….

@fishguy242 Is there any wisdom in using an 8 bulb fixture with only four bulbs in it to spread them out further?Last question. 4 bulb fixture or 8?
8 seems like it could be overkill…
sounds logical, have always used on wider tanks, these are my first over 18" tank.@fishguy242 Is there any wisdom in using an 8 bulb fixture with only four bulbs in it to spread them out further?
Without two power cords it would be difficult to cycle them on and off at different times automatically with a timer.Preliminary investigating has shown several fixtures with 2 switches, 2 outlets, but seemingly only one chord. The switches are for each half.
think that’s good enough for government work?

agree ,a lil mod is needed.Without two power cords it would be difficult to cycle them on and off at different times automatically with a timer.
What would be the right terminology to be searching for, Would they call two cords a dual channel fixture?agree ,a lil mod is needed.
