Every time I leave my house I turn off my AC in my room and when I come back I always see my corals retract I am wondering if it is because of my tank getting to around 79 f or is it due to my lights I use white lights only or if its because it is late and my corals are going to sleep?

Which one do you guys think is the biggest problem?

I also just brought a blue led light and swapped out the white light today hopefully tomorrow I dont see my corals retract

I know when it gets closer to night for my tank, the corals will start to close up for the night. How much is your tank temperature fluctuating? 79 isn't bad for a tank.

Don't just buy a blue led light, make sure its a coral growing light.

It could be the white light or it could be the 4 degree daily temperature swing. Both are not ideal and both should be corrected.

79 is not at all too hot. It is possible the corals don’t like the swing.

If they look happy the next day, you are probably okay.

You can always turn the AC up instead of off.

If you can, get yourself an Inkbird controller. Have a heater and fan plugged in. Then set the controller to the temperature you want. For example, I have my controller sent to 78. When the tank gets to 77 the heater turns on. When it hits 79 the fan turns on to evaporate the water, and thus cool down the tank, Keeping the temperature level-ish.
