This is the only pic I have so far. As you can see my cat was plotting for her next meal.

So ran into some trouble and need everyone’s help. This algae came about a month ago and is really being a nuisance, anyone that can correctly identify it so I can take matters to eradicate it I would greatly appreciate it.

its been a long time since I updated this page. So to answer your question I did beat the algae I was dealing with only to be overran by bubble algae roughly 6 months later. I highly recommend getting rid of bubble algae as quick as possible. I found manual removal with and water changes to be the most effective way.

I moved to a new house in 2019 and unfortunately my tank took a dive during the move and I lost my entire coral population :(. I managed to save the fish and quickly built a new rock formation and started the tank with the same water/sand/ equipment in June 2019 once I moved into the new house.

- two Aqua Illumination Prime's
-off brand name thermostat
- 2 part doser ( beginning soon)

I recently purchased a Jabao cheap doser and plan to begin to dose 2 part. I have now had the tank up for several years and have learned by trial and error so much. The tank right now is doing very well and I'm finally on the good side of reefing at the moment. I am going to ride this high while it lasts because I know I will deal with challenges down the road again. It's a 45 gallon all in one and over the years I never felt I needed to dose because my water changes maintained my levels. However, now I am interested in maintaining the levels specifically Alk and Calcium at a better range compared to massive changes when I do my water changes.

My plan or my hope is by maintaining better perimeters and consistency that the corals thrive. I noticed over the years several euphyllias die when I felt my water consistency was fine. I have realized they were dying due to shifts in my Alk more than likely and then the drastic spike in Alk levels when I would do a water change.
