Sorry to chime in we in the uk could get a plant called onion bulb but after some time you could not get them . You stuck them in the gravel at the back of your tank and they grew like reeds really good growers. Does any one have more info on them . They were really good for discus tanks
We have them. Crinum I believe it's called. Crinum Natans has curly leaves.

You could be correct they would grow to the height of your tank and grow across the top of your tank . If you planted them in a row along the back of the tank they looked brilliant and the discus used them too spawn on the leafs . tbrown thanks for info Steve might get some .

Here’s the new additions to the tank. A day late but came in good shape. These were taken soon after being placed in tank. Got a cute little hitchhiker from the live rock. More life starting to show up..

Shucks. I wanted the curly. Oh well. Flat looks good too.
I used to buy the packs that had Apongeton, Crinum bulbs, and Water Lily. Half of the Crinum grew, Apongeton would occasionally sprout, but the Water Lily always did decent.

This was from my lfs and already had leaves. Shoulda known from there. I'll have to check the packs.

@steveschuerger find any coral on your live rock? Where did you get it from?
Maybe a couple pieces of encrusting. Gulf Live Rock. I honestly think they have the rock with the most life that I’ve gotten. I do love KP as well for the overall quality. Things are just starting to come out of the woodwork so to speak. I’ve found 2 crabs. One seems to be a small mithrax and the other a decorator type. Did have to deal with a majano earlier today. But so far between that and a tiny possible predatory worm it’s been pretty good a few bivalves (2 large honkers on one rock) I’ve been pretty happy.

That's where I got mine too. I didn't get overnight which I regret. It would have doubled the cost though. And UPS was late, I lost a tiny crab, cucumber, and starfish that I know of.

I have 1 definite coral coming back(possibly rose coral), maybe another 2(star corals). Macro algae out the wazoo! Finding more bivalves. I removed some sponges, still have a lot, Tunicates, lots of pods.(one light bulb anemone who shall live for now)

Only negative is I found 3 Cirolanid isopods, they have the large slant eyes and don't roll into a ball. I found them in my overflow chamber. If you want to set a trap for them there's some info in R2R.

Overall I wouldn't hesitate to do it again, take the good and the bad with live rock any day. Hitchhikers can come from anything we put in our tanks anyways.

I hope you keep finding more goodies!

This is my favorite hitchhiker in a while furry little decorator type crab. Even my KP rock has turned out to have bunches of small fan worms. Love watching their little fans wave. Ugh I just looked up light bulb anemone. It’s quite possible I may have mistaken one for a majano. Oh well what’s done is done.

Moenkhausia pittieri IMO is one of the prettiest and best tetra you can keep in a tank.

Last post here for the night. After having some time to settle, most of the corals seem to be doing pretty well . One Milli seems to be on the verge of rtn , possibly due to stress of extra time in transit. All the lps are in good shape. Here’s a few random shots .

It is very pretty, but I’m in the Cardinal tetra ring. Especially for large groups.
