I know it's not the most loved tank out there. But I scored a brand new Fluval flex 32.5 saltwater for under 200 so why not try it. I know some things will need upgrading. I already resealed the chamber. I'm going with black sand and white dry live rock.

Upgrades already purchased:

2x intank media baskets
2x jebao slw 5 Wavemakers
Duetto2 Dual-Sensor Complete Aquarium ATO

Planned upgrades:
Syncra Silent 1.5 Pump (357 GPH) or
Sicce
Syncra SDC 3.0 WiFi Controllable Pump (260-800 GPH)
Comline DOC Skimmer 9001 DC
Definitely new lighting just not sure what.

Definitely open to ideas and suggestions.

It's not about the tank mate, it's about what you do with it! :) Can't wait to see, please bring us along with pictures and stuff!

I assume you will have to remove the lid unless you are planning on building in a 'blade' style light live on the EVO?

Definitely removing the lid for better lighting. Was going to add a second fluval marine but I hear their are issues with over heating the tank.

I ran the Fluval Marine lights on 2 x EVO tanks with no issues :) I did upgrade to a couple of used AI Prime lights for the extra power but if you have the one marine already, it might be a way to go!

Lights are not cheap but you can sometimes find really good stuff on Marketplace, eBay etc.

I'll post pics here since my wife's current build is set as my profiles my tank thread

Things are coming along. Some more stuff showed up today. I ended up changing the jebao slw-3 for the jebao sow-4 powerheads. And I went with the Sicce wifi pump. I'm only waiting on the bottom intake covers

The start of my aquascape. I bought a bunch of large pieces. I have been smashing them up and building somethings from the pieces.

Well, it's filled and cycling will start soon. Had an issue with the light in the hood not working but fluval already has a new one on its way to me. The light on the tank now is just for a picture. My wife decided she was going to throw a 10g reef tank on the bottom of the stand. Just need to source a light for that. I was able to fit a small bucket behind her 10g for my ATO.

I have the same tank! I also use the intank baskets and the Silce 3.0. Those two upgrades made a huge difference. I run 1mp 10 currently but will be adding a second for better flow on the other side of the tank. Just added a Keasil 360x today as I was having overheating issues even with the one stock light and hood. I also wanted better color control for corals still to come.

Next upgrade will be some kind of overflow into a sump as I need a little more room for probes and such.
