Good job on removing the plug too.
My LFS actually removes all the plugs for you if you ask them to so that was there handy work, all I did was glue it to the rock :D As far as the color goes we will have to wait and see, I kinda hope it stays orange and blue tho its one of my favorite color combos on corals.

Did you ever get a fish? Fish pee and poop are important.

The Big LFS I trust the most was out of firefish so I do not currently but a small LFS close to me just called me saying they have some firefish in stock so im gonna go check them out. This smaller store is known to have ich issues tho so if any fish in that system have it then its a no go. The LFS I trust will have them in tomorrow tho so its nbd.

Were you planning on having clowns or anything? Might just get a pair of clowns first.

When it comes to buying fish, there are few things I look for. Bright colors, no white patches or spots, no heavy breathing, no torn fins or cloudy eyes, actively swimming and not too skinny. For clowns I pick the ones that are in front of the harem. But make sure it's not in front cause the rest are picking on him/her.

Sometimes it's best to start with clowns too because an established fish will make jumping fish(ie gobies, firefish) feel more secure.

Yeah ill be getting a clown pair but want to add them last, generally I like to add the most timid fish first and the most aggressive last. And thanks for the advice! I have my 2 years of freshwater to bounce off of when it comes to how to pick a good fish but you just confirmed that it is in fact the same! :)

I've always started my tanks with clowns. Not just because they are hardy but because they too need to establish areas for themselves. The firefish and goby will follow suit. Plus occi clowns aren't as aggressive as people make them.

Well when I said ill have to see what my LFS has in stock I did not have this in mind. I saw this super active bonded pair of SA Blacker Ice clowns and had to get them. I guess im starting with clowns after all! Take a guess on what a paid for these, hint: it was a killer deal.

Picked up a hammer coral and a gonipora today as well as a cleaner shrimp. Thank has been progressing nicely and the diatoms are starting to die off rapidly. I did the first 25% WC on the tank as well. Both my acan and hammer coral are gladly eating any mysis ive been giving them however oddly my clows did not initially take to the mysis, it has taken them 3 days of hunger strike to start eating them but they are now taking them happily. I have some Zoas on the way as well as a pygmy file fish so look out for those in the near future!

Little update here. Got my zoas in yesterday and they are all doing great! So far the goni is doing amazing so im stoked about that as ive been told they are sensitive and often dont do well. My hammer closed up for a day or two and i was worried about that but its opened back up. Im waiting on an ORA Pygmy file fish to add and will pick up a fire fish soon as well
