I finally got my 75g tank up and running. This is my second salt tank (first was a small 10g with two snowflake clowns). I have one clown left (the smaller one jumped out a couple weeks ago) and Im hoping to find him another partner and tank mates. I have 60 lbs of caribsea life rock on egg crate layer, 40 lbs of Natures ocean bio active live argonite sand, 250w eheim heater, 2 Hydor koralia power heads (560gpm each) and tidal hob 75 filter. Dosed with microbacter7 and the sponges from the 10g tank. I have transferred our only clown into there and waiting for the cycle to complete before adding anything else. Glass canopies are covering the top and I have two smat farm reef lights that will go up soon.
I hope all of this sounds like Im going in the right direction. Couple of questions, my LFS does not have anymore snowflake or frostbite clowns, but they have one thats small and black pattern. Will that be a problem mixing patterns but keeping same species? And when introducing a clean up crew, do I introduce a little at a time correlating with the growth of algae? My plan is to slowly stock the tank according to the needs of the tank rather than emotional attachment of seeing an awesome fish at the shop. Lol. When the tank is well established, I will then try my hand with corals. Thanks for having a great forum full of information. I appreciate everyones likes and comments. Bring on any constructive suggestions as I am still learning.
