Recieved my surprise marine betta Tuesday afternoon! It's good size at about 5.5in & already eating lrs fish frenzy which is great! Shy fish in general but still very excited. I will try to get some better shots later today :)

I run chemipure elite and a gfo reactor for phosphates. I think we should try to organize something for this winter. I think I'm upwards of 70 frags in the 150 lol. I'll be keeping my 40b setup and running from now on as well to use a future frag tank :)
Do you have a refugium? Those seem to help a lot with phosphate, I’ve also had success using additives like bright wells phosphate-E or phosbuster pro(different brand) You just dose them and they instantly lower your phosphate. But that sounds awesome, I can’t wait for the swap!

I do have a fuge that is just starting to grow chaeto pretty well, I've noticed a bit of a decrease since then. I have some phosguard that I might throw in until things balance out a bit better as well. Im trying to be careful how much I feed as well, it's fun keeping these guys well fed but easy to over do it

That’s good, but I’d you see a decrease in chaeto growth it could be because you have phosphates but no nitrates, or it’s just missing some trace elements it needs. I would recommend a product by brightwell called chaeto grow it works really well. And are you using frozen or flake/pellet food?

Ordered some chaetogro per your recommendation also some aminos for all these frags. Picked up a few other things while these sales are going on, why not. Of course I had already bought some supplies previous to the sale but that's life... Debating turning the 40b into another dt, I must be crazy :)

+2 on crazy. Zach, it’s winter in Wisconsin, hope your dog house has heat :)
Lol, I suppose I better run some extension cords now huh? We will see if it turns into a dt, my daughter wants to have her own tank. However, when I said it's a lot of work and you have to test it and change the water, etc. She replied "no dad, I want my tank to be like yours" lol great. If I had the money to completely automate it, maybe...

Nice. I’ve contemplated this for a while.
The best quotes I've read on R2R relating to it were "spend a couple hundred to protect thousands" & another was "buy once, cry once".

I will most likely buy another before we go out of town which isn't too often. We have a small and large generator as well but I wanted something for when I'm not here

Just went over your build thread. Nice setup. I'm planning on doing a basement sump as well. I may seek some advice on that and a mixing station. Also, do you have any recent pics of your acros?
Thank you! I can absolutely help if needed! I will snap some pics in the am once the whites come back on. All but one acro seem to be doing well, the super green stack I got from Jason Fox at reefapalooza has quite a bit of noticeable growth already :)

Thanks, I will probably take you up on any advice I can get in that department. Glad to hear the Jason Fox acro is doing well. He has a few corals that I'd really like to get my hands on. I was born and raised in Kenosha, WI, I still get down that way periodically. If you guys plan a frag swap I'll try to get down that way. Also, Are you familiar with Battle Corals? Adam is out in Lake Geneva and that isn't far from you at all. He's definitely one of the leaders in aqua-cultured coral. If you haven't checked out the Battle corals website, I strongly urge you to do so. It's worth it for the pictures alone. Anyway, I enjoyed your build thread and thanks again for the tech support earlier. I am not a big computer guy at all. When the time comes, I'm sure my Apex is gonna give me fits. LOL. I'll keep my eyes peeled for those stick pics. Anyway, take care and thanks again.

Absolutely, always here to help! Very cool you're originally from the area. I am hoping to get together with some of our members and plan a frag swap or viewing of tanks/systems in the near future. I would love to get some of Adam's @Battlecorals frags into the system!!. I really want to make sure I can handle these few before I attempt those beauties. He really does have some of the nicest sps corals I've ever seen. Once again, don't hesitate to pop in or pm me with any questions. I will get some acro pics today as well :)

Nice that your local club is still active, or that you are planning to get active again. I was away from reefing for a bit and it seems that our local club has pretty much dissolved since this covid debacle. I may be naive or maybe just plain stupid, but I refuse to live in fear of an illness with an almost 99% recovery rate. I just take the necessary precautions and don't sweat it. Anyway, feel free to PM me if you guys get a tank tour or frag swap going. My mom always appreciates anything that brings me down to the area. She'd love you for it! LOL Happy reefing.

As promised some of the acros I recently acquired. One might have some stn at the base of a shoot but I'm keeping an eye on it. Shot with blue leds & blue plus t5. I will get more when whites come on shortly, not the best pics
