have you added ammonia or feed to the tank, most cycling stuff we read online says to

I forgot to ask how you've fed the bacteria.. *even if you fed none, food still gets in, we have ways to measure your cycle status even using that test kit for an interesting insight into self feeding or not

did you feed them

for sure they develop slower when feed portion of cycling works is skipped, and only the bacteria added.


but

cycling charts were written before bottled bac was for sale, that's the natural time completion off contaminant sources of ammonia (claimed)

we should test that with your tank. if you want to do this series of steps its the only way to know if your tank is ready:

post a pic of current ammonia test.

then we add a known dose of ammonium chloride, Dr Tims cycling ammonia for tanks.

then you post pic 2 of the test.

pic 3 is in 24-48 hours, if it matches pic 1 you are cycled and can add fish.

if it matches pic 2, stalled. the movement of ammonia is what shows the cycle not the final reading.
