Hey folks!

It's been a while but my tank is doing quite well!!

I seem to get quite a bit of detrius however. Is that a thing with these tanks? Maybe I'm missing something in my filtration? I have the intank insert with filter floss and chemi pure.

Would appreciate any tips for extra filtration that may assist! Even just general feedback/tips would be great. Tank's been running about 2 years at this point. But I still consider myself a newbie!

I don’t think your tank is mature enough based on how little coralline algae there is! You may want to add more flow to keep the detritus up in the water column so it’s filtered out and add a protein skimmer. I would probably double or triple your clean up crew.

are we looking at the same picture? He has some crazy amounts of coralline growing, which I think matches the 2 year mark.

I thought my joke was so obvious I didn’t have to put “Ha” after it! I’m jealous of your coralline algae growth! My tuxedo urchin eats mine so fast it cant keep up. Before the urchin 60-70% of my back wall was coralline algae, now 1-5%.

Originally I had a pencil urchin.

I wanted the pink/purple Coraline algae look so bad, after doing my research I rehomed him because I didn't want to have anything ruining the algae growth!
