hey guys i was looking at my bounce shroom i got a couple days back and noticed that he had a small piece of himself just chilling besides him? i have been moving him around day by day trying to find the best spot with the least flow around the sb. i’ve read someone blended their mushroom once and they were able to grow those pieces into new shrooms so i was wondering if i’d be able to grow this piece out or if i should be worried that a piece broke off him.. thanks! (ps i took a pic right after i placed him on top of a new flat rock i just bought so he’s a bit angry still)

Put the smaller piece in a container with rubble, it'll be fine in a low flow area. I had a bounce that split into three, days after I got it. I was worried it was melting and BAM three bounce mushrooms.

That's crazy I wonder if it was the new system that made yours split.
My Gonzo split right after I removed it from a rock with other 2 bounces on it.

It's so weird I wish I could replicate it. Maybe it'll happen once I take the SK out of QT. Fingers crossed ;)

It's probably a baby. Is it attached to rock?
the foot is attached to a manmade rock disk sort of like a regular frag plug which it was already attached to at the lfs. he just hasn’t expanded to his full extent yet so i figured if i supplied him with an actual rock and not just sand it’d encourage him to take some steps on to the actual rock and open up! hopefully it’s a baby i can grow !

would this work out? i just plopped him in a crevice of this piece of rubble and taped it to my back wall since i need a water change soon and didnt want him to be a part of the water column to avoid any accidents.. would i just have to replace the water in there every now and then or do you recommend i put the lid on and make a hole so i can place him on the sand?

That is an epic shroom for sure.
The baby may have sent wondering to find a new home. It definitely looks like a baby to me.
As Bighoho said place it on rubble in low flow light corner it will re attach just give it a week or 2.
The rubber maid container should be fine I have a cpl of those going at the moment.

I'd like to see better up close pix of the mom I think you found a nice one!

Beautiful shroom looks super happy and healthy especially since she's dropping babies.

You have inspired me to bite the bullet to put some of my shroom in shroom containers now. Lol
Habe heard of babies detaching to find new homes never to be seen again.
Good stuff
