Sorry for your loss. In the past, I lost most of my fish to ich. Now I quarantine all my fish. I use to treat every single fish with copper. I lost more fish then ones that made it to the main tank. I now quarantine them just for observation for 4 to 6 weeks. I only treat if needed. Can't remember the last time I treated a fish. Quarantine also gets them eating without competition from other fish. I also ask to see the fish eat before purchase. If it doesn't eat, it stays there. Healthy eating fish can fight off diseases. This is the way I find what works for me.
Yeah, This is very similar to what I do. I do just “float and drop” but I’d rather get the peaceful fish in sooner rather than later (Tangs and establishment can get nasty).

Aptly named, Hercules the cherub is still alive. He looks like he is fighting infection as well but he looks tens times better than all the other fish and eats like a pig still. There is always hope. While I was topping off the top off storage tank I decided to take some pics of things that I haven't killed yet!

We also have two nano planted tanks. This 15g and a 5g fluval(not pictured). Those do amazing and no death except old shrimp.

I've kept multiple dwarf angels in my reef for years. I recently lost my Coral Beauty, which was with me for two years prior to setting up this tank in January 2005. The Bi-Color angel also traveled to the house when we moved here, and a Lemon Peel was added in (estimated 2008). Tank is SPS dominant.

Weekend update. It's been a month. Everyone that lives is doing well. We have been focusing on adding corals now that we haven't caught the little beast. Eventually I'll figure out how to get him...

Trying to figure out if this is a majono or a baby bubble tip. No idea where it came from.

Pertaining to the thread FWIW... the Eibli and Coral Beauty getting along well after a year together now. Eibli most recent addition, CB is about 6 years. From my observations Eibli has asserted dominance between them, and especially over the Damsel in tank!

Seems to be the consensus that those angels do alright. What size is your aquarium?

We will get back to restocking the angel list once we can get Hercules removed and can go fallow in the DT.

On a side not, I need your orange discoma mushroom. I had one and it moved off the frag plug and dissapeared. I'm guessing it went to the rocks backside out of view.

It's a 90 gal and thanks. That Disco you see seems to stay put, I 'had ' a little mini colony growing till the 3rd of 3 decided to up and gone. It's in there floating around but looking for it over last day or so.... I'm really starting to think Discos are different in terms of their mood. All my hairy and green mushrooms stay right locked in and spread where they lie, no matter where it is....

My LFS had a beautiful Coral Beauty, Eibli, Lemon Peel x Half Black Hybrid, and a cheap African flame back Angel, if I had a larger tank I’d love to mix these dwarf angels (4’ tank and mixing angels to me sounds like borderline especially with 2 fish eventually going in there and already at 11 fish (13 total eventually, most of them will max out at 4” but there are some that could get 6-7”). Your tank is doing good though!!!

I'd say do it. From my experience prior the velvet, I think you would be fine as long as you QT first and do a lights out adding. I had 13 fish in the 220 but most of them were large and only going to get bigger.

Side note, my dang watermelon discoma moved off the red Coraline algae covered rock to hide in the back next to the acanthophylia. On the plus side it will have plenty of room to spread on the sand...

So my giant green hairy mushroom has been splitting over the last 4 days. I think it's finally done. I know, this isn't angel related but at least it's something that hasn't died in the last month...

I'll post an image when it regains it's full 4-5 inch size X2.

I have maybe?? A different problem now. I have found three pink and one green majano. I really hate to kill them as they look beautiful. Two of the pink are on their own separate rock and so is the lonely green one. I know they will sting sps coral. Has anyone had them sting softies and mushrooms?

I would like to put a C.eibli in my 90 gallon too but I already have a coral beauty angelfish that doesn't look very friendly, it can even get aggressive with my blue damsel, and to be honest I wouldn't want to split the tank so I could add more angels.

Well it's been 6months and we finally have news. Hercules was caught and transferred to the hospital tank. I was able to use a fish trap and secured him quickly. We can officially start the fallow process of the main display. By my estimate, we should be able to reintroduce the little beast back in by late August. At that point, I will get the hospital tank ready for the next angel, whoever that may be. I'll include a few FTS here and keep everyone abreast of the goings on.

That’s great news!

Just Hercules, the sole survivor from 13 fish. I think during this 80 day period we will have time to figure out other tanks to setup and house potential tank mates.

At this point we are lookibg at what to treat Hercules with since I've never seen velvet go away, just be managed.

I have a 6' 140 gallon system. I'd like to add two flamebacks, ideally Ora. Could I have a problem with this setup?

My other fish are tangs, yellow, tomini and powder brown. Any potential issues with this combination?

The tangs may show aggression however if added at the same time then the two flame backs should pair up eventually.

If you're fighting vs velvet, I think you're going to need a longer fallow period.
From all the research periods, 76 days was the marker which is why I'm going 80 to be safe. You're saying longer? How long and what research can you point to see their success rates?

I haven't followed this thread in a while so I don't know how much fallow time you currently have, but 76 days I think you're talking about Cryptocarion, I remember reading about it, so that's kind of a cyst time limit. Speaking of velvet I can tell you that when I was a beginner, I foolishly tried to keep angels and butterflies in the same tank without quarantine, the only thing I got was a tank full of velvet in less than two weeks, everything died so I did a fallow period of 90 days and tried again with the same result, did another fallow period of 4 months and again the same, so I decided to stop killing fish, I uninstalled the tank and started from scratch later with better results, and speaking of quarantine simply I follow the advice of copps: 90 days in quarantine to avoid problems and a lot of food for the new fish.
